Talking To Yourself!

What do you do when you have to shake your head at your own actions? Questions like: "Why did I do that?" or "How did I get into this situation (again)!". Let's be honest with ourselves and begin to not only ask the questions, but ANSWER them honestly! Then and only then will we have taken a meaningful step towards never having this conversation with ourselves again in the future!

The problem with most of us today is that we've been convinced that having an "issue" is a sign of weakness. We've been led to believe that if we're going to be respected or admired, we must be perfection personified. The flaw with this school of thought is that it doesn't allow us to enjoy the benefit of being human. Human beings are imperfect and prone to mistakes. Humans by nature are creatures that are forever evolving; ever growing; ever learning. If we never take the time to get in touch with our deficiencies or short-comings, we deny ourselves the opportunity to grow.

I learned as a child that until you learn the lesson from the mistake, you're doomed to repeat it. The only way to learn from your mistakes is to first admit that there is one. Second, you must train your mind to be open to new ways of doing things. If you do what you've always done, you get what you've always gotten!

Today, let's challenge ourselves to take a good, hard, honest look at the man(or woman)in the mirror. Ask yourself the tough questions and allow your reflection to give you the answers.

Peace and Power!
